Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. He's made major inroads globally into Latin pop. Una Lady Como Tu from 2016 won an Colombian Kids Choice Award as the most popular Song for 2017. His debut album ADN was issued through La Industria Inc., a Medellin-based Sony distribution company. In the Top Latin Albums chart, it reached No. 8. Vaina Loca was the Top Five hit of Ozuna's Top Five album in 2007, saw him join Ozuna. He released Dopamina which was his top charting second album, in the years following. He also performed as a duo TINI for her viral streaming song Maldita Foto. The hit song La Bachata from 2000 was published in 2023. Turizo was raised in a musical environment, because both his mother and his older brother are musicians. According to him, musicality was a fundamental aspect of his daily life. When a young boy, he studied the guitar as well as the saxophone. In spite of initially wanting to become a veterinarian, Julian convinced him that learning with a Cuban singing teacher would change the direction of his career.
